‘Kintsugi’ is the new track from Indian-born, UK-based composer, Cephas Azariah. “My parents grew up in India, and they carry their culture with them, whereas culturally I’m English,” says Cephas. “So there was a lot of brokenness in our relationship as I grew up, but we worked together as a family to repair and recover, and I put that experience into this piece of music.” The track is a peaceful composition influenced by Azariah’s classical background, with neo-classical and ambient sounds working their way into his style. It is built on light piano, hopeful melodies and strings filled with warm, bright atmosphere. His intricate production includes the subtle texture of a slowed-down broken ceramic bowl and staggered elements. His debut album, Joy Paradox, is due to be released on October 21st, 2024. -Dan Peeke
